Provide support to the plant Quality function while acquiring fundamental engineering process knowledge and manufacturing quality competencies. We are looking for an eager candidate with a willingness to learn and a keen eye for detail. Someone who has an interest in engineering, manufacturing and technology would be ideal.
Responsibilities
- Obtain Level 2 Engineering Operative Diploma, potentially followed by suitable further qualifications up to HNC/HND.
- Conduct dimensional inspections of injection moulded and stamped components and report findings in written inspection reports.
- Perform mechanical tests on components and assemblies, reporting results accurately.
- Provide input into part modification decisions considering product form and functional requirements.
- Calibrate production gauges and equipment and ensure calibration database is kept up-to-date.
- Update controlled documents and standard operating procedures.
- Support the site’s internal ISO 9001 quality audit program as a trainee quality system auditor.
- Support the administration of customer return processing.
- Participate in continuous improvement activities including problem solving and root cause analysis.
Qualifications
- GCSE or Equivalent (Maths & English level 4 or above).
Skills
- IT Skills particularly Microsoft Excel.
- Good command of written and spoken English.
- Maths ability at level 4 or above.
- Good verbal and written communication, ability to work to a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Interest in engineering and technology.
