Role Overview
The Business Development Manager plays a pivotal role in driving sustainable revenue growth by leading front‑end pursuits and strategic campaigns across the Aerial Refuelling (AAR) portfolio. This includes identifying and developing opportunities for new technologies with existing customers, as well as expanding Eaton’s footprint with new customers and markets.
Working cross‑functionally, the BD Manager shapes value propositions, develops robust customer solutions, and manages pursuits through to contract award in alignment with the Life Cycle Management Process. This role is central to strengthening Eaton’s market position and building long‑term customer relationships.
Strategic Growth & Opportunity Development
- Identify, qualify, and develop new business opportunities using Eaton ProLaunch best practices.
- Lead front‑end business development activities for both existing and emerging markets.
- Develop compelling value propositions and solutions that address customer needs and operational challenges.
- Maximise revenue generation and ensure order intake aligns with annual business targets.
Customer Engagement & Capture Leadership
- Act as the primary interface for assigned customers, markets, or geographies.
- Serve as Capture Team Manager or contribute as a key member of capture teams.
- Build and maintain long‑term relationships with key decision‑makers across OEMs and end‑users.
- Represent the business in proposal development, bid submission, and contract negotiations.
Internal Collaboration & Strategy Contribution
- Work closely with engineering, programme management, and product teams to shape customer‑focused solutions.
- Provide market insights to support internal strategy development, including product roadmaps, technology planning, and competitive analysis.
- Champion the “voice of the customer” across the organisation, promoting behaviours that enhance customer value and satisfaction.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5+ years experience in Aerospace (Ideally within a military or defence environment).
Skills
- Strong understanding of Aerial Refuelling systems and end‑user operational requirements.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical and commercial concepts clearly.
- Proficient IT skills, with the ability to leverage digital tools to enhance customer engagement and business development activities.
- Proven ability to build relationships, influence stakeholders, and drive cross‑functional collaboration.
