Our site is undergoing a significant and exciting transformation as we relocate to a newly constructed facility in Daedalus. This state-of-the-art site will serve as the Centre of Excellence for aerospace manufacturing across Europe, marking a new era of innovation and excellence. We boast extensive fuel and air system test facilities, facilitating comprehensive testing across a range of conditions with various fuel types.
What you'll do:
- The Eaton Aerospace team have an opportunity for a Test Equipment/Facility Design Engineer supporting the design, development and qualification of aircraft fuel and inerting system solutions.
- This role will be the team focal point for the design and manufacture of new test fixtures and test equipment as well as supporting the Engineering Services Manager in maintaining the regulatory compliance of the extensive test facilities.
- Lead the requirements capture, design development and implementation of test rigs, test stands and fixtures.
- Manage the test equipment requests, scoping the required work and resource requirements.
- Ability to define test equipment design requirements from functional need.
- Ability to complete test rig and test fixture design (Knowledge of Creo preferred, training available).
- Support Engineering Services Manager in maintaining test facility regulatory compliance.
- Coordination and leadership of subcontracted test rig and fixture design, support to factory acceptance testing, site acceptance testing and rig handover.
- Preparation and review of technical documentation (engineering proposals, performance specifications, technical reports and papers) in accordance with company procedures.
- Project management of allocated design tasks, defining time and implementation plan.
- Excellent communication skills are required to create and maintain working relationships across the multi-disciplinary teams.
- Works individually or as a part of a team and with other engineering or cross-functional disciplines to deliver as per customer needs and expectations.

Qualifications:
- Apprenticeship in an Engineering Discipline or HNC / HND in Mechanical Engineering or other relevant subject.
- 5 years working in a relevant role.
Skills:
- Knowledge of aircraft fuel system components - desirable.
- Knowledge of mechanical engineering principles including design of structural components, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
- Experience of writing technical reports / requirement specifications.
- Experience of test rig and fixture design.
- Understanding of test rig controls and instrumentation - desirable.
- Working understanding of ATEX regulations and associated equipment - desirable (training available).
- Knowledge of risk assessment and risk register documentation - desirable.
