The role focuses on translating strategic intent into executable initiatives, ensuring alignment with long-term business priorities, and delivering sustainable value. A strong leader of teams with a hands-on background within Engineering, Operations, Manufacturing or Programming and a strong motivation to deliver would be ideally suited to this vacancy and could really thrive within an organisation such as Eaton.

The role operates across functions, regions, or business units, working closely with senior leaders, functional owners, and external partners to ensure disciplined execution, effective governance, and measurable outcomes. With the geographical scope of the role will come a requirement to travel internationally and manage projects when they require such attention. Experience with data centre projects would be highly advantageous for this position.

  • Lead end-to-end delivery of strategic initiatives and transformation projects aligned to corporate or business-unit strategy.
  • Translate strategic goals into structured project plans, milestones, and benefit-realisation frameworks.
  • Manage multiple, concurrent projects within a strategic portfolio, ensuring prioritisation reflects business value and capacity.
  • Develop and maintain business cases, project charters, and investment justifications.
  • Establish appropriate governance structures, including steering committees, escalation pathways, and decision gates.
  • Monitor progress, risks, dependencies, and benefits realisation; intervene where required to protect outcomes.
  • Engage senior stakeholders and functional leaders to align expectations, secure resources, and drive accountability.
  • Act as an integrator across functions (e.g. operations, engineering, finance, supply chain, IT).
  • Support change management activities, ensuring adoption, communication clarity, and organisational readiness.
  • Manage project budgets, schedules, and resource plans to ensure efficient use of capital and people.
  • Track financial performance, savings, cost avoidance, and ROI against approved business cases.
  • Improve project management standards, tools, and ways of working across the organisation.
  • Coach or mentor project leads and functional managers on disciplined execution and strategic alignment.
  • Embed lessons learned and best practice into future programmes.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree (2:1) or above in engineering, business, project management or a related discipline.
  • Significant experience managing complex, cross-functional or transformation projects in a matrix organisation.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate at senior-leader level with credibility and confidence.
  • Strong commercial acumen with experience building and owning business cases.
  • Project management certification (e.g. PMP, PRINCE2, PMI, Agile) preferred.
  • Strategic thinking and systems perspective.
  • Strong execution discipline and prioritisation.
  • Stakeholder influence without direct authority.
  • Data-driven decision-making and problem solving.
  • Clear, executive-level communication.
  • Comfort working with ambiguity and change.
