The Senior Trade Compliance Manager, EMEA owns all strategic oversight for export activities in the EMEA region while leading the EMEA export team.

What you’ll do:

  • Export Controls Compliance: Oversee and ensure compliance with export controls regulations, including ITAR and EAR, as well as EU and national export control laws and regulations within the EMEA region.
  • Sanctions Compliance: Manage sanctions compliance activities with support from Legal, including screening of customers, partners, and transactions against restricted party lists and embargoed countries within the EMEA region, with enhanced focus on sanctions circumvention risk, diversion, and indirect routing of goods and technology.
  • Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD): Design, implement, and oversee risk‑based enhanced due diligence measures for higher‑risk customers, transactions, intermediaries, and jurisdictions to mitigate risks associated with circumvention or misuse of goods, technology, or services.
  • Policy and Procedures: Develop and deliver GTM policies and procedures to ensure alignment with relevant regulations and industry best practices for Eaton with the EMEA region.
  • Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A): Support trade compliance activities related to mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures, including pre‑ and post‑acquisition risk assessments, transition support, and onboarding of acquired entities into Eaton’s export controls and sanctions compliance framework.
  • SAP GTS Integration: Support integration and utilisation of SAP Global Trade Services (GTS) platform for trade compliance activities, including export classification, license management, and screening.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and mentor the export compliance team within EMEA, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure high performance and adherence to compliance standards.
  • Training and Awareness: Develop and deliver trade compliance training programs for employees, contractors, GTM Coordinators and stakeholders across the EMEA region to enhance awareness and understanding of export controls and sanctions requirements.
  • Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of trade compliance processes, systems, and controls.
  • Regulatory Engagement: Help support Eaton EMEA business units’ engagement with regulatory agencies and authorities within EMEA, representing the company’s interests and collaborating on compliance matters.
  • Risk Management: Identify and assess trade compliance risks within the EMEA region and develop strategies to mitigate and manage risks effectively.
  • Cross‑functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders, including legal, finance, supply chain, and sales teams, to ensure alignment and integration of trade compliance into business processes and decision‑making.
  • Classification: Help support and drive the Technology Control Officer initiative across the EMEA region.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
  • Minimum 7 years’ experience in regional trade management

Skills:

  • Export regulatory knowledge for EMEA region countries
  • Understanding of US ITAR regulations
  • Ability to manage relationships with government agencies, and technical ability to manage complex export business across all businesses
  • Strong ability to influence and drive compliance culture
