What You’ll Do
Demonstrate, apply, and document expertise in electrical hardware and software within automated electrical test design for the aerospace industry. Provide technical support for aerospace projects and product development, with a primary focus on military applications. Ensure technical solutions are aligned with organizational objectives to maximize business value.
- Apply aerospace engineering principles to solve complex problems with practical, innovative solutions.
- Design, develop, and document automated electrical tests for electronic components, equipment, and systems.
- Execute assigned electrical test tasks from concept through implementation, emphasizing value, reusability, safety, validation, and configuration management.
- Ensure all facilities and equipment used are safe and serviceable.
- Create, review, and release technical documentation covering requirements, design, verification, processes, and procedures for electrical test activities.
- Collaborate with colleagues across business units to achieve project objectives.
- Support the Electrical Test engineering management team in activities related to Avionic equipment and systems.
- Contribute effectively as a team member to meet internal and external customer requirements.
- Support lifecycle management for the development and validation of electrical test products.
Qualifications
- Engineering or science degree, or equivalent experience following an apprenticeship.
- Minimum 7 years within the engineering or manufacturing industries.
Skills
- A sound understanding of electrical systems.
- Able to work with circuit diagrams.
- Proficient user of MS Office, specifically Word and Excel.
- Understanding of digital and analogue hardware and is able to debug equipment using laboratory instruments (DMM, Oscilloscope, etc.).
- Electrical test hardware design experience.
- An understanding of requirements management, configuration management, and health & safety requirements applicable to office and laboratory environments.
- Software coding experience desirable.
- A keen eye for detail.
- Pro-active, able to use their own initiative.
- Good verbal and written communications.
- Collaborates well in a team environment.
- A willingness to mentor less experienced engineers.
- An appetite to learn.
