As a Senior Quality Engineer at Eaton Lakeside, you will drive quality across complex manufacturing processes for aerospace components. You'll define and implement quality standards, lead continuous improvement, and support customers, suppliers, and operations. Your work will influence new product launches, process capability, and cost control initiatives. You will collaborate cross-functionally to solve problems, lead internal and supplier audits, and mentor junior engineers. Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement complex process sampling systems and quality procedures
- Develop process improvement and cost control programs
- Review specifications to ensure compliance and performance
- Provide technical support to operations, customers, and suppliers
- Perform supervisory duties and train employees on requirements
- Lead quality planning for new products, processes, and services
- Guide cross-functional teams on process improvement projects
- Analyze quality metrics and drive corrective actions
- Lead supplier audits and respond to customer audits
- Prepare and present quality materials to customers and staff
- Support supplier quality data analysis and supplier development
- Lead or participate in internal Quality System audits and training
- Evaluate process variables (capability, MSA, SPC) and corrective actions
- Ensure compliance with AS9100, ISO 9001 and related requirements
- Supervise personnel and lead improvement teams
- Assist in Root Cause analysis and 8D problem solving
- Contribute to new product development and launch methodologies
Key Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field with 3 years manufacturing experience
- 10 years total manufacturing experience may substitute degree requirements
- Ability to read blueprints and specifications
- Knowledge of machining, gauging, SPC, APQP, ISO 9001/AS9100
- Experience in quality audits
- MS Windows OS and MS Office familiarity
- Project management experience (preferred)
- Prior supervisory experience (preferred)
- ASQ CQE/CQA/CQMgr certifications preferred
- Experience leading PFMEAs and Six Sigma / 8D problem solving
- Knowledge of Eaton Supplier Quality Assurance requirements
- Understanding of NPD and launch processes
- Knowledge of ISO/TS-16949, AS9100 and related registrations
- Auditing techniques and Lean / Six Sigma concepts
