Job Purpose
We are now looking for a number of UPS Commissioning Engineers to join our UK team, supporting South East region. In this role, you will provide expert service to Eaton customers by commissioning large UPS systems, ensuring optimal performance and reliability in line with Eaton's safety standards. You will play a key role supporting hyperscale data centres, delivering high-quality technical expertise across commissioning, testing and system configuration. Candidates need to be based within South of the UK.
What You'll Do
- Commissioning of large UPS systems.
- Understanding on-line and line-interactive UPS systems.
- Creating commissioning scripts.
- Carrying out site acceptance testing on customer sites.
- Using and understanding power quality meters.
- Experience in thermography and reporting.
- Battery experience - VRLA and Lithium Ion.
- Setting up and configuring remote monitoring software.
- Communicating with key stakeholders on a technical level.
- Applying anti-static policies and procedures.
- Applying ECN processes to all repairs.
Qualifications
Educated to a HNC or higher in Electrical and Electronic Engineering or equivalent.
Skills
- Possessing three-phase electrical installation or maintenance knowledge.
- A good understanding of UPS systems is preferred.
- Knowledge of industrial communication protocols such as Modbus, SNMP, OPC, DDE, TCP/IP.
- Knowledgeable of programming PLC control systems (power control, generator control, SCADA or process control).
