As an Operations Intern, you will join one of Eaton Aerospace or Electrical Divisions and will play a key role in supporting the delivery of world class products. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands on experience in Aerospace or Electronics Manufacturing Operations, working alongside experienced professionals and cross functional teams to ensure products are delivered on time, to cost and with the highest standards. From day one, you’ll be making a meaningful contribution to both in service and development products, gaining valuable insight into the Operational core processes of Aerospace or Electronics manufacturing. This internship provides a strong foundation for a rewarding career in Aerospace or Electronics Manufacturing Operations, where your contributions will support innovation and operational success across the industry.
- Support production activities within our Air to Air refuelling and Actuation value streams
- Collaborate with Production Supervisors, Manufacturing Engineers, Material Planners, Test Technicians and Fitters to resolve issues and drive operational excellence
- Early risk identification/mitigation and identification of opportunities, supporting with the achieving of budget (order book mid and long term assessment)
- Analyse manufacturing problems and provide solutions/guidance to the shop floor team
- Support with interpreting manufacturing data eg drawings and test schedules to create manufacturing instructions
- Provide technical advice and assistance on all assigned projects, engaging with subject matter experts and stakeholders from all functions as required
- Review delivery performance and highlight candidates for assurance stock holding or kitting
- Understand relevant commercial flow downs associated with delivery and ensure communication with correct teams
- Work alongside Material Planners to ensure accurate completion dates
- WIP Management and accountability, including resolution and escalation
- OTD and arrears management
- Support engineering & Quality team conducting RCA (Root Cause Analysis) and investigation of faulty products (A3 or 8D)
- Investigate RCCA for missed deliveries and lead investigations
- Issue resolution with cross functional delivery team, eg NCRs, emerging design issues, Stop Notes and FAIRs
- Provide financial forecasts to IPT and Finance teams, supporting with initial monthly reviews and regular in month updates
- Work together with Inventory Control and Procurement teams to implement solutions where required
- Drive continuous improvement of manufacturing processes, reducing costs and increasing repeatability
Qualifications: Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Manufacturing Management, Manufacturing Engineering or a closely related field.
Skills: Manufacturing Management or Operations Management exposure is beneficial. Some engineering experience by way of education or hobby interest. Attention to detail, critical thinking, good communication and networking skills, autonomy, teamwork, work ethic, adaptability, time management.
