What You'll Do
- Demonstrate, deploy, and document electrical hardware and LabVIEW software technical knowledge within automated electrical test design for the aerospace industry.
- Provide technical support to aerospace projects and product developments, primarily for military applications.
- Align technical solutions to organisational objectives to ensure optimum business benefit.
- Apply aerospace engineering principles to a range of problems requiring imaginative and practical solutions.
- Research, develop, design, and document LabVIEW-driven automated tests for electronic components, equipment, controllers, devices, and systems.
- Perform electrical test tasks from concept to introduction, considering value, design for re-use, safety, validation, and configuration management.
- Ensure facilities and equipment are safe and serviceable.
- Create, review, and release technical documentation defining requirements, design, verification, processes, and procedures that govern electrical test activity.
- Collaborate with technical colleagues outside the business unit to accomplish objectives.
- Support the Electrical Test engineering management team in performing activities associated with electrical tests for avionic equipment and systems.
- Act as an effective team member to deliver internal and external customer requirements.
- Support all stages of lifecycle management relating to development and validation of electrical test products.
Qualifications
- Engineering or science degree, or equivalent experience following an apprenticeship.
- Minimum 7 years within the engineering or manufacturing industries.
Skills
- A sound understanding of electrical systems.
- Able to work with circuit diagrams.
- Proficient user of LabVIEW, MS Office (Word and Excel).
- Understanding of digital and analogue hardware and ability to debug equipment using laboratory instruments (DMM, oscilloscopes, etc.).
- Electrical test hardware design experience.
- Understanding of requirements management, configuration management, and health & safety requirements applicable to office and laboratory environments.
- A keen eye for detail.
- Pro-active, able to use own initiative.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Collaboration within a team environment.
- Willingness to mentor less experienced engineers.
- Appetite to learn.
