For our Data Centre Segment regional team we are looking for a Design & Engineering Manager (Electrical). Reporting into the EMEA Director of Engineering - Data Centre Segment, in this role you will be responsible for managing the design, development, and implementation of innovative data centre solutions. This role requires a strategic thinker with a strong technical background in data centre design and a passion for driving innovation. It requires an influential technical leader who can drive design innovation, manage engineering teams, and lead continuous improvement to enable the delivery of high-quality, efficient, and scalable data centre solutions.
It offers a deep level of engineering support and direction relating to the design, build, and operation of large Data Centres. Principally, this relates to the electrical infrastructure, but extends into the overall operational technology found in the Data Centre environment. The role requires expertise within electromechanical systems such as cooling, building management systems, and energy management systems. It also requires a full appreciation of various building construction technologies and challenges. Experience in project management and supervision of build projects and the delivery of various product technologies & services required in the Data Centre environment is essential.

Responsibilities:
- Act as Design Manager on data centre projects, leading the electrical design scope from concept, through detailed design, to construction support and closeout.
- Remain hands-on in electrical design, providing technical leadership and ownership of critical design aspects for mission-critical facilities.
- Lead and coordinate electrical engineers and SMEs as part of a multidisciplinary design team on both large and small projects.
- Manage design deliverables, resources, schedules, and quality across assigned projects.
- Provide expert technical guidance and mentoring to the DC Design & Engineering team.
- Develop, implement, and uphold electrical design quality standards, procedures, and best practices.
- Review and approve electrical designs, calculations, reports, and specifications, undertaking and facilitating formal peer reviews.
- Act as a client-facing technical lead, attending and contributing to client, contractor, and Eaton internal meetings.
- Lead project teams during value engineering, optioneering, and technical decision-making stages.
- Participate in and lead project site visits to monitor, review, and resolve electrical installation and commissioning matters.
- Collaborate with project management, commercial, and construction teams to ensure successful project outcomes.
Qualifications:
- BSc or MSc in Electrical Engineering, with a Masters degree preferred.
- 8-10 years of relevant experience.
- Proven experience delivering a full range of electrical engineering services for mission-critical facilities, including medium- and low-voltage power distribution, transformers, UPS systems, and standby generation.
- Strong knowledge of applicable electrical codes, standards, and industry best practices.
- Experience with value engineering and integrating new technologies to deliver cost-effective, resilient solutions.
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit is an advantage, but not essential.
- Familiarity with emerging technologies such as edge computing and AI.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Ability to think strategically and drive long-term innovation.
- Proven ability to build teams and support engineering processes.
