What You’ll Do
As a Lead Engineer, you’ll:
Lead Projects: Take charge of small to medium projects or key sections of larger initiatives, including proposals, new product introductions, and modifications/upgrades to in-service products.
Plan & Coordinate: Work alongside other functions and project management, manage tasks, and ensure milestone success by engaging cross-functional teams like airworthiness and safety.
Collaborate: Serve as the technical interface with customers, ensuring solutions meet expectations and translating those requirements internally.
Drive Excellence: Contribute all system lifecycle stages—requirements, design, development, integration, verification, and qualification.
Mitigate Risks: Manage technical risks and opportunities, ensuring system integrity and design traceability throughout the product lifecycle.
Support Growth: Support apprentices and junior engineers, manage engineering change, and work closely with leadership to ensure projects are well-resourced.
Qualifications
Degree in a relevant engineering field (HNC/apprenticeship with equivalent experience also considered).
Skills
Minimum of 5 years of engineering experience.
Exceptional communication skills to collaborate with customers and internal stakeholders.
Self-motivated problem solver with a proactive approach to challenges.
Proficiency in engineering lifecycles, technical report writing, and design reviews.
Comfortable presenting technical content at all levels within the business.
Experience with project scheduling and, ideally, prior engineering document sign-off.
