We are now looking for a number of UPS Field Service Commissioning Engineers to join our UK team, working flexibly from anywhere in the country. In this role, you will provide expert service to Eaton customers by commissioning and maintaining UPS systems, ensuring optimal performance and reliability in line with Eaton’s safety standards. You will play a key role supporting hyperscale data centres, delivering high-quality technical expertise across commissioning, testing and system configuration. No prior UPS experience is required - this is a fantastic opportunity to develop your expertise with full training provided.
What You’ll Do
- Commission large-scale UPS systems across customer sites
- Demonstrate strong understanding of on-line and line-interactive UPS systems
- Develop and execute commissioning scripts
- Conduct Site Acceptance Testing (SAT)
- Use and interpret power quality meters
- Perform thermographic inspections and reporting
- Work with battery systems, including VRLA and Lithium-ion technologies
- Set up and configure remote monitoring software
- Communicate effectively with customers and stakeholders at a technical level
- Apply anti-static policies and procedures
- Ensure all repairs follow Engineering Change Notice (ECN) processes
Qualifications
- HNC (or higher) in Electrical and Electronic Engineering or equivalent
- Strong knowledge of three-phase electrical installations or maintenance
- Experience with UPS systems would be a plus but full training will be provided
