Overview

To act as an Installation & Commissioning Engineer within EMEA, mainly working in large data centre projects in a field. To provide a first class service for the Eaton installed base products to ensure maximum customer satisfaction and loyalty. Responsible for installation, commissioning, preventive maintenance and product repairs. Offer support to the extended EMEA Service community through high level technical knowledge and experience in the field.

Responsibilities

  • Overseeing Data centre commissioning across EMEA on behalf of Eaton Field Service.
  • Provide the highest level of technical expertise in all Hyperscale commissioning activities.
  • Support and train Local FSEs in such activities.
  • Manage key account technical escalations providing support including site visits, to engineers and customers alike, drive escalations to conclusion and provide feedback where necessary.
  • Work closely with Project Managers, advising on commissioning considerations and assisting on selection of suitable engineers, carry out site visits as required.
  • Assist SIS with support of high profile clients, providing technical advice and attending site visits as required.
  • Maintain direct links with business units (HPO) and act as focal point for all technical exchange regarding the commissioning procedures and testing.
  • Manage subcontractor teams where required.
  • Perform Health & Safety audits of FSE and subcontractors ensuring the high standards required by Eaton are maintained.
  • Any other adhoc duties in line with role.

Travel

The role can be performed anywhere in the EMEA region, given the flexibility to travel around 50% of the time in the region.

Qualifications

  • Installer electrical background, suitable education/qualifications.
  • 5-10 years of UPS experience, 5 years in the field focusing on Data Centres.

Skills

  • Three phase electrical installation and commissioning experience essential.
  • Working knowledge of industrial communication protocols such as Modbus, SNMP, OPC, DDE, TCP/IP is an advantage.
  • Programming of PLC control systems (Power Control, Generator Control, SCADA, or process control) is an advantage.
  • Good understanding of switch panels and power distribution.
  • Communication skills / Customer Focus / Flexibility / Be able to work together with different cultures / Able to follow instructions.
