We are looking for an Electrical Fitter to join our team. Located in Wimborne, Dorset, Eaton’s Aerospace division is a global leader in aerospace fuel systems, renowned for delivering fully integrated solutions for both fixed and rotary‑wing aircraft. Our Wimborne facility specialises in cutting‑edge air‑to‑air refuelling systems, advanced refuelling probes, air‑to‑air and air‑to‑ground launch systems utilising both pneumatic and pyrotechnic ejection technologies, as well as a range of Defensive Aids Sub‑Systems.

Qualifications

  • Has completed a recognised apprenticeship or experience to equivalent depth, and is able to demonstrate relevant experience within the skill group.
  • This role suits an experienced time‑served electrical technician with 10 years experience.
  • Fault finding upon completion of survey.
  • PCB repair, soldering, and electrical experience would be beneficial.
  • A wide skill base within an MRO base would be useful.

What You’ll Do

Task Management

  • Strip, survey and rebuild, PAT of electrical LRUs (black boxes) to agreed engineering methods and processes.
  • Conduct PCB component level repairs.
  • Complete surveys and repairs to agreed practices.
  • Support and conform to quality procedures to maintain compliance, ensuring adherence to the defined processes and procedures.

Autonomy

  • Can carry out strip, survey and rebuild, PAT of electrical LRUs without supervision.
  • Identifies and implements improvements.
  • Works with team to identify and drive productivity and performance improvement opportunities to support cost reductions.
  • Has an understanding of lean manufacturing processes and works with team.
  • Contributes to continuous development of the safety, health and environment requirements within the team’s work area.

People Management

  • Actively supports and progresses own development needs to ensure task flexibility via use of skills matrix.
  • Has an annual and interim PDRs with Value Stream Manager.

Communication

  • Attends start‑of‑shift meeting with team to understand targets, key issues, communications (e.g. visits, health and safety issues); attends work scheduling meeting each morning.
  • Escalates issues to Value Stream Manager in a timely manner.

Skills

  • Attain approved operator stamp with scope approval relevant to job role.
  • Understand lean methodology and principles.
  • Complete tasks on‑time and to required standard.
  • Minimise job card variances.
  • Adhere to SHE requirements of area and cooperate with management to meet employer’s legal duties and take reasonable care of own health and safety and that of others.
