We are seeking a Manufacturing & Process Engineer to serve as the technical expert for the newly established Additive Manufacturing Center. This individual will define, implement, and optimize the manufacturing, processing, and inspection methods required to deliver high‑quality, additively manufactured aerospace components.

Manufacturing & Process Development:

  • Develop and optimize manufacturing processes, post‑processing operations, and inspection methods for additively manufactured components.
  • Support the creation of procedures, work instructions, and best practices for AM production.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on cost, quality, and productivity.

Operations Support:

  • Assist with daily operation of the Additive Center, with emphasis on post‑processing, workflow optimization, and process stability.
  • Support the maintenance of the AM quality system and ensure adherence to safe work practices.
  • Oversee pre‑print activities such as build plate preparation, and post‑print activities including sawing, tumbling, and other finishing steps.
  • Manage production routers, including setup, accuracy, cycle‑time validation, and change control.

Cross‑Functional Collaboration:

  • Work with design teams to influence additive‑friendly component designs.
  • Coordinate with internal and external partners for subcontracted post‑processing operations such as non‑destructive testing (NDT) and surface treatments.

Manufacturing Expertise:

  • Serve as the primary expert in manufacturing, processing, and inspection techniques for additively manufactured products.

Process Optimization:

  • Develop and implement procedures and work instructions, focusing on continuous improvement initiatives to enhance cost-effectiveness and quality.

Collaboration:

  • Work closely with internal customers, engineers, and AM process specialists to optimize additive manufacturing designs.

Operational Oversight:

  • Assist in the day‑to‑day operations of the Additive Center, ensuring a focus on post‑processing and manufacturing improvements.

Production Management:

  • Oversee the creation and maintenance of production routers, ensuring accuracy in cycle times and pre‑print activities, including plate preparation.

Post‑Processing:

  • Manage post‑print activities, including sawing, tumbling, and programming/running post‑print machining on XYZ CNC lathe or mill.

Subcontract Management:

  • Coordinate subcontracted post‑print activities such as non‑destructive testing and surface treatments.

Quality and Safety Compliance:

  • Support the maintenance of a quality system within the AM center and enforce safe work practices.

Qualifications:

  • HND in Mechanical Discipline.
  • Min. of 5 to 7 yrs experience in machine shop and manufacturing engineering related environment.

Skills:

  • Manufacturing Experience in Aerospace.
  • CAD Modeling experience: Solid works/AutoCAD.
  • Practical experience in mistake proofing (Poka‑Yoke).
  • Experienced in the design of simple jigs and fixtures.
  • Proficient in the interpretation and application of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing.
  • Good Presentation and organisational skills, strong team player, able to collaborate.
  • Proficient in the use of MS Office.
  • Strong ethics, values and the ability to influence others’ decision making.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects/activities; results driven.
  • Process oriented and ability to contribute to continuous improvement.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Understanding of problem‑solving methodologies and risk assessment tools (Six Sigma, 8D, root cause analysis, PFMEA).
