Some Financial Controller roles are about maintaining the status quo. This isn't one of them. Eaton Syalon is partnering with a highly respected, values led organisation entering an exciting period of growth and transformation. As they continue to invest in their people, systems and future strategy, they're looking to appoint a commercially minded Financial Controller who wants to make a genuine impact.
Reporting directly to the Director of Finance, this is a newly created leadership role offering the opportunity to shape the finance function, strengthen commercial insight and help drive better decision making across the organisation. You’ll work closely with senior leaders, influence strategic decisions and play a key role in modernising reporting, improving processes and developing a high-performing finance team. If you enjoy combining strong financial control with commercial business partnering and continuous improvement, this could be the opportunity you've been looking for.
The Opportunity
You’ll take ownership of the day to day finance function whilst helping to shape its future. Key responsibilities include:
- Leading the monthly management accounts, reporting and financial control processes
- Driving budgeting, forecasting and financial planning across the organisation
- Providing meaningful financial insight and commercial challenge to senior stakeholders
- Developing financial models and supporting strategic decision making
- Leading, coaching and developing an established finance team
- Improving reporting, automation and financial systems
- Strengthening controls, governance and audit readiness
- Working closely with the Director of Finance on transformation initiatives
This is a role for someone who enjoys improving how finance supports the wider business, rather than simply reporting historic numbers.
About You
We’re looking for a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) who combines strong technical capability with excellent commercial awareness. You’ll ideally bring:
- Experience operating as a Financial Controller or in a senior finance leadership role
- Ownership of management accounts, budgeting and forecasting
- Strong financial control and balance sheet management experience
- The ability to communicate financial information in a clear, commercially meaningful way
- Experience developing finance teams and building strong stakeholder relationships
- A continuous improvement mindset with experience enhancing processes, systems or reporting
Just as importantly, you’ll be someone who enjoys working collaboratively, challenges constructively and wants to help shape the future of a growing organisation.
Why Apply?
This is a rare opportunity to join an organisation where purpose and performance go hand in hand. You’ll have genuine visibility across the organisation, the opportunity to influence change from day one and the autonomy to improve how finance supports strategic decision making. With hybrid working (typically 1-2 days per week on site), a supportive leadership team and a culture built around collaboration and continuous improvement, it’s an excellent opportunity for someone looking for their next leadership challenge. If you’re looking for a Financial Controller role where you can genuinely make a difference, we’d love to hear from you.
