Working closely with senior leaders and operational teams, you will deliver a proactive, commercially aware HR service across a small number of sites, balancing operational HR support with wider people initiatives. Reporting to the People Director, you will act as a trusted HR partner and as a true HR generalist to leaders across the region, providing guidance on a broad range of people matters while helping to strengthen leadership capability. This is a hybrid position, with the majority of the week spent working from home alongside one core office day, and travel to sites across South Derbyshire as required.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Providing expert advice to leaders on employee relations and complex HR casework
- Coaching and supporting managers to build confident people management capability
- Partnering with leadership teams to drive engagement, wellbeing and performance initiatives
- Supporting organisational change, restructures and workforce planning activity
- Building strong relationships with operational stakeholders across multiple sites
- Supporting and mentoring a People Advisor
- Contributing to people strategy and wider HR projects across the organisation
- Supporting policy development and ensuring consistent people practices

You will need:
- Solid experience within a generalist HR role
- Strong knowledge of employee relations and employment legislation
- Confidence supporting managers with complex casework
- Excellent relationship-building skills with stakeholders at all levels
- The ability to work across multiple sites and priorities
- A CIPD Level 5 qualification (or working towards) or equivalent experience
