Eaton Syalon have been retained to partner with a high-growth SME to appoint a Group Financial Controller into the UK team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in driving financial integrity, control, and performance across the business\’s most complex operating entity.As Group Financial Controller, you will be at the heart of our UK operations, leading the finance function of a high-growth international engineering business. You will take full accountability for the month-end close, statutory reporting, and financial compliance, ensuring all outputs are accurate, timely, and transparent to support Group-level decision-making.In this role, you will lead a talented finance team through a period of transformation, embedding robust processes and best-in-class use of financial systems while fostering a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and collaboration. You will act as a trusted partner to operational, commercial, and project teams, providing clear insights into financial risks, opportunities, and project profitability.You will also play a pivotal role in shaping the efficiency and scalability of their finance systems, taking responsibility for the integrity of financial data and championing innovative, data-driven solutions. This is a senior leadership position where your expertise will directly influence the performance and growth of the business, giving you the opportunity to leave a lasting mark on a high-performing, international engineering organisation.Key Responsibilities will include Financial Control, Compliance & Month-End ManagementOwn the month-end close and all UK financial reportingEnsure integrity of all financial data, aligned with Group standardsStrengthen internal controls, audit readiness, and regulatory compliance (UK GAAP/IFRS)Manage VAT submissions and support payroll CIS filingsLead the external audit process and liaise with auditors, tax advisors, and stakeholdersLead a high-performing finance team, fostering accountability and a culture of continuous improvementAct as a credible finance leader, supporting operational and commercial stakeholdersChampion learning, cross-training, and succession planningBusiness Partnering & Strategic SupportAct as a trusted finance partner to operational, commercial, and project teamsProvide clear updates to senior leadership, highlighting financial risks and opportunitiesLead project profitability reporting and support commercial teams with accurate dataSystems, Data & Process TransformationTake ownership of financial outputsLead system usage, process design, and continuous improvementSupport the evolution of the Group\’s finance systems landscapeQualifications & ExperienceACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualified with senior finance leadership experienceStrong ERP and systems knowledge, with a deep understanding of data structures and integrationsExperience of Sage Intacct would be an advantageBackground in contract or project accounting within engineering, industrial, or construction sectorsExpertise in cost control, WIP, accruals, earned value, and revenue recognitionProven ability to lead and inspire teams in fast-paced, multi-site environmentsExcellent interpersonal skills with confidence to challenge and support at all levelsComfortable navigating ambiguity and driving changeThis role offers a unique opportunity to shape the finance function in a high-growth international engineering businesses, where your insights and leadership will directly support our ambitious growth strategy.#J-18808-Ljbffr
