Eaton Syalon are working with a Derbyshire based business to recruit a Commercial Finance Analyst into their Finance team. This is a great development opportunity for someone who has 1-2 years exposure in a Finance Analyst role.
Role Overview
This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated finance professional to join our clients Commercial Finance team. The Commercial Finance Analyst will support the business in understanding financial performance, analysing commercial data, and providing insight that supports pricing decisions, margin improvement and operational excellence. The role offers strong exposure to senior stakeholders across operations, sales, and finance, with excellent opportunities for career development.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in producing weekly and monthly commercial performance reports
- Analyse sales, pricing, and margin data to identify trends and opportunities
- Support month-end processes including accruals, variance analysis, and revenue reporting
- Maintain and improve forecasting models
- Work closely with sales teams to understand customer performance and pricing structures
- Support operations in analysing production costs, waste, and labour efficiency
- Present findings to the Commercial Finance Manager and other stakeholders
Commercial Insight & Decision Support
- Provide data-driven insight to inform pricing decisions
- Support evaluation of new product profitability
- Monitor key KPIs and provide recommendations for improvement
Data & Systems
- Maintain data accuracy across finance and commercial systems
- Assist in developing dashboards and automations to streamline reporting
- Work with the wider team to enhance financial controls and processes
Skills & Experience Required
- Experience in a finance analyst role with 1-2 years exposure
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and present data clearly
- Solid Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups as a minimum)
- Strong attention to detail
- Good communication skills and ability to work with non-financial stakeholders
- Experience in manufacturing or construction environments would be advantageous
- Interest in studying towards a professional qualification (ACCA/CIMA)
