Eaton Syalon are working in partnership with a respected specialist ground engineering company to recruit a Design Estimator. This position offers the chance to play a key role in securing technically robust and commercially competitive projects across the UK. It would suit an engineer with ground engineering experience who is keen to broaden their involvement in both design development and cost planning within a growing and supportive environment.
The role will involve:
- Developing preliminary engineering solutions to support tender submissions
- Analysing enquiry documentation and identifying technical and commercial risks
- Preparing detailed cost plans, including measurements and build-ups
- Engaging with internal design teams, temporary works specialists and operational colleagues to ensure practical and buildable proposals
- Obtaining and assessing supplier and subcontractor pricing
- Drafting technical responses and methodology statements for tender returns
- Representing the business at site inspections, pre-tender meetings and client interviews
- Supporting final negotiations and ensuring a smooth transition from award to project delivery
What’s essential:
- A background in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Engineering Geology or a related field
- Experience within groundworks, piling, retaining structures or wider ground engineering environments
