Management Accountant Burton on Trent | £40,000 - £45,000 + Study Support Part Qualified ACCA / CIMA | Site Based Exclusive to Eaton Syalon Eaton Syalon is exclusively partnering with a successful and growing business in Burton on Trent to recruit a part-qualified Management Accountant. With continued organic growth and further acquisition activity in the pipeline, this is a great time to join the business - particularly for someone who has built a solid grounding in management accounts but is now looking for more commercial exposure and a genuine opportunity to develop. This isn't just about producing the monthly numbers. You'll take ownership of management accounts across a portfolio of businesses within the Group, while increasingly working with operational stakeholders to understand what is driving performance, where profitability is changing and what the numbers are telling the business. Key Responsibilities Working within the Group finance team and reporting into senior finance leadership, your responsibilities will include: * Producing monthly management accounts across a portfolio of Group businesses * Accruals, prepayments and journals * Balance sheet reconciliations and financial controls * Reviewing P&L and balance sheet performance * Budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis * Providing meaningful commentary around performance * Analysing revenue, costs, margins and profitability * Identifying trends and investigating the drivers behind variances * Working directly with operational managers to understand business performance * Helping non-finance stakeholders understand the financial impact of operational decisions * Supporting improvements to management information, systems and processes * Supporting the integration of newly acquired businesses * Getting involved in wider commercial and ad hoc projects as the Group continues to grow What we're looking for We're looking for someone who is part qualified ACCA or CIMA and already has practical management accounting and month-end experience. You'll understand the fundamentals, but importantly you'll be someone who wants to go further than simply reporting what has already happened. You'll naturally want to ask: Why has this changed? What's driving the variance? Where are margins being squeezed? What can we learn from the numbers? You'll ideally bring strong Excel and analytical skills, experience of budgeting and forecasting, and the confidence to build relationships outside of finance. Experience within an operational, multi-site, manufacturing, logistics, engineering, waste or similarly fast-paced environment would be useful, but isn't essential. Alongside ACCA or CIMA study support, there's genuine scope to develop your career as the business and finance function continue to grow. Over time, you'll have the opportunity to increase your commercial exposure, work more closely with operational stakeholders and develop from traditional management accounting into a broader finance business partnering role.
