Assistant Accountant High-Growth Manufacturing Business Derbyshire (one day work from home after 3 month probation) £30k - £32k + Full Study Support 8am – 5pm Monday - Thursday, 12pm finish on Fridays Eaton Syalon is partnering with an investor-backed manufacturing organisation in Derbyshire that has achieved exceptional triple-digit growth over the past 36 months. As the business continues to scale, they are looking to appoint an Assistant Accountant to join their expanding finance team. This is an outstanding opportunity to gain broad exposure across financial accounting, reporting, accounts receivable, operational finance, and month-end processes — all while receiving full study support and a clear pathway to becoming a fully qualified Accountant. The Role The successful candidate will support the finance function across a wide range of accounting and reporting activities, including: · Performing bank reconciliations and maintaining accurate cash book postings · Supporting the preparation of VAT returns and national statistics reporting · Assisting with maintaining the trial balance and updating supporting schedules · Preparing and posting journals including accruals, prepayments, and fixed asset depreciation · Producing and issuing sales invoices and credit notes · Maintaining the sales ledger and ensuring customer account accuracy · Providing weekly debtor cash updates and monitoring customer advances · Supporting month-end close processes including reconciliations and reporting · Preparing monthly reports including Other Debtors, GRNI, and cost centre review packs · Assisting with cost centre reviews through analysis preparation and participation in review meetings · Producing daily operational reports such as Hours vs Budget · Processing and reconciling intercompany recharges on a monthly basis · Ensuring intercompany balances are accurately recorded and fully supported · Assisting with year-end activities and responding to audit requests About You We are keen to speak with candidates who are: · AAT studying or qualified or someone in the early stages of CIMA/ACCA studies · Equipped with previous finance or accounts experience · Comfortable working with Excel and finance systems · Organised with strong attention to detail · Proactive, eager to learn, and keen to develop professionally · Looking for a long-term opportunity with progression into a qualified accounting role What's on Offer · Clear progression route to becoming a qualified Accountant - full study support on offer · Exposure to a thriving manufacturing environment · Opportunity to join a business during an exciting phase of sustained growth · Supportive and collaborative finance team · Broad role offering genuine development and commercial exposure Candidates currently working in an Accountancy Practice setting or those currently in industry will be considered for this role.
