A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Management Accountant to join a well-established and growing business within a wider international group, based at their modern facility in East Yorkshire. Operating in the manufacturing sector, this site plays a key role within the group, supplying specialist products globally.
This is a broad and hands-on role, ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced SME environment and enjoys taking ownership across all areas of finance, from monthly accounts to cashflow forecasting. You'll also be part of the local leadership team, acting as a key business partner to the site MD while reporting into the Group Finance team. You'll be supported by a capable Accounts Assistant and will have access to group-level expertise and systems training. Experience within a manufacturing environment will be a distinct advantage.
Key Responsibilities:- Full preparation of monthly management accounts and reports
- Cashflow forecasting, bank payments, and reconciliations
- Oversee AP/AR, fixed assets, and payroll postings
- VAT returns, reconciliations, and compliance across product and regional lines
- Monthly reporting to Group Finance, including P&L variance analysis and balance sheet reconciliations
- Lead on annual budget input, forecasting and variance analysis
- Ownership of local audit processes, with support from external advisors on tax and R&D credits
- Weekly flash reporting (sales, aged debt, and forecast)
- First-pass review of expense claims
- Ad-hoc financial projects and business case support
- Strong foundation in double-entry bookkeeping and management accounting
- Prior experience using an ERP system
- Good knowledge of VAT, reconciliations, and period-end processes
- Highly organised with excellent attention to detail
- Confident communicator with the ability to partner effectively across the business
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
