Eaton Syalon is exclusively partnering with a high growth acquisitive Nottingham based business to recruit an experienced Financial Accountant to join its finance team in a key role, supporting the delivery of accurate financial reporting, strong financial controls and continuous improvement across the function. This is a newly created role within the organisation.
Working closely with the Financial Controller & CFO, you'll have the opportunity to contribute to a wide range of financial accounting activities, from statutory reporting and group consolidations to process improvements and business projects.
The Opportunity
As Financial Accountant, you'll play a key role in ensuring the organisation maintains a robust financial control environment while delivering accurate statutory reporting, group consolidations and tax compliance. This is a varied role with the opportunity to lead projects, influence finance transformation initiatives and support best practice across the finance function.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Financial Control & Governance
- Maintaining and enhancing a robust financial control environment.
- Safeguarding company assets and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
- Leading month-end and year-end financial processes.
- Developing and monitoring internal controls, policies and procedures.
- Acting as a key contact for external auditors and tax advisers.
- Ensuring statutory, regulatory and audit requirements are met.
- Financial Accounting
- End-to-end balance sheet management.
- Group consolidation processes.
- Preparation of financial accounts.
- Audit preparation.

- Technical Accounting

- Produce meaningful financial information that supports business performance, including monthly balance sheet reconciliations, high-quality financial reporting, and actionable commercial insights.

About You
You'll be a fully qualified accountant or a finalist studying towards your qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with proven experience in a Financial Accountant or similar role. You'll also bring:
- Strong financial accounting experience.
- Excellent understanding of financial governance and controls.
- Experience producing statutory financial accounts.
- Strong knowledge of IFRS and FRS 102.
- Experience with Group consolidations.
- A solid understanding of direct and indirect taxation.
- A track record of driving continuous improvement.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.
