Eaton Syalon are supporting a well-established SME in Derbyshire to recruit an Interim Management Accountant. This is a hands-on role within a small, busy finance team, supporting the Finance Controller across a broad range of activities. There is an immediate need for someone who can come in, add value quickly, and help bring structure and momentum to the finance function with an opportunity for the role to become permanent for the right individual.

This is a varied and commercially focused position, suited to someone who enjoys being close to the detail while also improving how things are done. Key responsibilities will include:

  • Preparation of monthly management accounts
  • Supporting with clearing a backlog of financial information and reconciliations
  • Balance sheet reviews and ensuring strong controls
  • Assisting with month-end processes and reporting timelines
  • Identifying and implementing process improvements
  • Supporting wider finance activities including support with transactional activities as required within a growing SME environment

We’re looking for a doer – someone who is proactive, adaptable, and comfortable rolling up their sleeves. You will likely:

  • Be a QBE or part-qualified accountant with strong SME experience
  • Have a solid grounding in management accounts preparation
  • Be confident working autonomously and adding value quickly
  • Thrive in a fast-paced, hands-on environment
  • Enjoy working as part of a close-knit team
