Eaton Syalon are recruiting a Financial Accountant for a well-established Nottingham business during an important period for its finance team. This is a 6-month fixed term contract providing additional support as the business implements new Finance systems and prepares for interim and year-end audit.

It’s a great opportunity for a technically strong Financial Accountant who enjoys getting into the detail – someone who can take ownership of core financial accounting activity, challenge what they find and help ensure the balance sheet is in great shape ahead of year end.

The role will include:

  • Ownership and review of balance sheet reconciliations
  • Investigating and challenging reconciling items to drive a clean year-end position
  • Accruals and prepayments
  • Preparing information for external audit
  • Supporting the embedding of new finance system processes
  • Identifying opportunities to improve existing processes
  • Working closely with the wider Financial Accounts and senior finance teams
  • Supporting ad-hoc reporting, queries and projects as required

What we're looking for:

You’ll be a qualified ACA, ACCA or CIMA accountant with strong financial accounting fundamentals and the confidence to work at pace in a busy environment. You'll need strong Excel skills, good attention to detail and, importantly, the mindset to question and investigate rather than simply reconcile around a problem.

The business operates a genuinely hybrid model, with Mondays and Thursdays in its Nottingham office and the remainder working from home.

If you're coming towards the end of a contract, immediately available or simply open to a six-month opportunity with plenty to get involved in, we would love to hear from you.
