About the School
Eaton Hall Specialist Academy is a residential special school for boys aged 7‑16 with social, emotional and mental health difficulties. The Academy is part of Broad Horizons Education Trust and focuses on improving life chances for all pupils.
Role Summary
Childcare Officers support the care, leisure and well‑being of groups of students under the direction of the Senior Childcare Officer team, providing care, training, counselling and advocacy.
Responsibilities
- Provide care and supervision to students during school hours and on sleep‑ins.
- Train and counsel students in personal and social competence.
- Advocate for a small group of children, supporting their home and school development.
- Participate in the sleep‑in rota and stay overnight in school as required.
- Lead activities that leverage your interests outside the curriculum.
- Assist in maintaining a safe, supportive and engaging environment for all pupils.
Qualifications & Experience
- Good level of education (e.g., Level 3 qualification or equivalent).
- Reliable, persistent, loyal, with a sense of humour and strength of character.
- Ability to work within a multidisciplinary team and to support a diverse student population.
- Prepared to undertake further training as required by the Trust.
Legal & Background Checks
- Must be able to complete an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
- Subject to the Childcare (Disqualification) 2009 Regulations: declaration form required.
- Right to work in the UK must be established.
