What you’ll do:

  • Assemble, Inspect, Pack, Test and Audit electrical switch gear to manufacturing requirements whilst achieving Quality and Productivity targets.
  • Align to the specific Skill Band criteria for role.
  • Ensure tasks and output are to acceptable standards in accordance with the company policy and procedures.
  • Undertake product auditing throughout general assembly. (Skill Band 2)
  • Demonstrate an awareness of orders and dates to meet delivery times and customer requirements.
  • Demonstrate initiative and flexibility to ensure smooth and efficient running of department.
  • Observe and adopt safe working practices in accordance with Company health and safety policy and all relevant health and safety legislation; i.e. HASAWA 1974 etc.
  • Achieve MTM & SPC targets where applicable.
  • Undertake training necessary for development as agreed with Supervisors/Team Leader.
  • Communicate problems affecting role or responsibilities to Supervisors/Team Leader.
  • Ensure work area is clean & tidy at all times adhere to 5s+ standards.
  • Undertake any other reasonable duties as directed.

Skills:

  • Quality control awareness – Knowledge of standards, tolerances, and how to ensure products meet specifications.
  • Use of tools and equipment – Competence with hand tools, torque tools, testing devices, etc.
  • Understanding of MTM/SPC – Basic familiarity with time measurement (Method Time Measurement) and statistical process control to maintain productivity and quality.
  • Electrical assembly skills - Ability to follow work instructions and SOPs to correctly assemble switchgear components.
  • Health & Safety Awareness - Basic understanding of workplace safety rules, following instructions, using PPE, and keeping the work area safe and tidy.
