What you’ll do:
- Lead Projects: Take charge of small to medium projects or key sections of larger initiatives, including proposals, new product introductions, and modifications/upgrades to in‑service products.
- Plan & Coordinate: Develop engineering plans, working alongside other functions and project management, manage tasks, and ensure milestone success by engaging cross‑functional teams like airworthiness and safety.
- Collaborate: Serve as the technical interface with customers, ensuring solutions meet expectations and translating those requirements internally.
- Drive Excellence: Be involved with all system lifecycle stages—requirements, design, development, integration, verification, and qualification.
- Mitigate Risks: Manage technical risks and opportunities, ensuring system integrity and design traceability throughout the product lifecycle.
- Support Growth: Mentor apprentices and junior staff, manage engineering change, and work closely with leadership to ensure projects are well‑resourced.
Qualifications:
- Degree in a relevant engineering field (HNC/apprenticeship with equivalent experience also considered).
- Minimum of 5 years of engineering experience.
- You will have experience in one or more of the following – mechanical, electro‑mechanical, fluid, mechanisms, structures or systems product development.
- You will hold an engineering degree or equivalent with at least 5 years experience.
Skills:
- Exceptional communication skills to collaborate with customers and internal stakeholders.
- Self‑motivated problem solver with a proactive approach to challenges.
- Proficiency in engineering lifecycles, technical report writing, and design reviews.
- Comfortable presenting technical content at all levels within the business.
- Experience with project scheduling and, ideally, prior engineering document sign‑off.
