The Eaton Aerospace Group, Mission Systems Division (MSD), has an opening for a Software Engineer within the Avionics Software Development Team. This role reports to the Software Development Manager – Avionics. The primary purpose of the position is to develop and support embedded software in C for Air to Air Refuelling (AAR) pods used in hose and drogue refuelling systems. The role also includes creating and maintaining associated documentation and ensuring full compliance with relevant engineering processes, tools, and RTCA DO 178B/C standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain embedded C software to meet system and customer requirements.
- Use a range of engineering tools across the entire software lifecycle, including:
- Configuration Management
- Requirements Management
- Software Design and Modelling
- Traceability tools
- Static Analysis
- Software Build tools
- Microsoft Office
- Understand software test and verification tools and techniques.
- Apply and comply with engineering processes and standards, including RTCA DO 178B/C and Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) principles.
- Present engineering materials clearly to different audiences, adapting content and technical depth appropriately.
Qualifications
- Minimum graduate to 3 years experience.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree (or equivalent experience) in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Electronics, or a related discipline.
Skills
- Knowledge of the C programming language (or other similar language).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Confident engaging with a wide range of stakeholders.
