What you’ll do:

  • Wide range of component preparation and finishing operations for hose, metalflex, rigid tube, clamps and bracket assemblies predominately for the Aerospace industry and complying within an AS9100 and NADCAP approved manufacturing facility.
  • Fabrication and finishing of welded assembles including but not limited to: Prepare components to weld ensuring they conform to a fixture or drawing, sizing, facing, polishing, linishing, cleaning, post‑weld polishing, cleaning, and packing.
  • Secondary operations for tube and hose assembly including but not limited to: part marking, wiring on, shanking, drilling, swivel assembly and couplings, pressure testing, cap, tag, bag.
  • Strict following of Data Cards, process specifications, engineering drawings, standard work instructions, preventative maintenance, 5S standards and audits, and any other systems or procedures to maintain high aerospace standards of product integrity and lean manufacturing execution.
  • Ability to use, maintain, and set up equipment for processes listed in section 1 including but not limited to vapor and ultrasonic cleaning, sizer, polishing wheels, linishing, pressure test rigs, electro‑etch/dot marking, pillar drill, hand press.
  • Ability to use inspection tools such as (but not limited to) shadowgraph, borescopes, Vernier, micrometer, gauges, and fixtures. Able to inspect own work including but not limited to fit to fixture, inspect for damage, and aspects of successive inspection.
  • Active participation in safety and continuous improvement activities including but not limited to: guard check sheets, risk assessments, problem solving to reduce scrap & rework, productivity and standard work events, improve workplace organisation and 5S, on‑the‑job training of team members.

Skills:

  • Good understanding of basic math and English.
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing environment is essential.
  • Use of simple tools preferable.
  • General Computer Skills for access to drawings and procedures preferred.
