Eaton's Crouse-Hinds Business is a designer and manufacturer of alarm, signal, control and notification equipment since 1975. Eaton acquired Cooper Industries plc in late 2012. Eaton's Crouse-Hinds Business integrates a comprehensive line of electrical and instrumentation products with expert support, industry insights and local availability, engineering safety and productivity in the most demanding industrial and commercial environments worldwide. The products are specifically designed for harsh environmental conditions and where there is a risk of explosion due to the presence of flammable atmospheres both onshore and offshore. Based at Sutton in Ashfield, Nottingham, Cooper MEDC is a designer and manufacturer of alarm, signal, control and notification equipment used in harsh environmental conditions. The plant employs around 190 people.

What you’ll do:

  • Create and maintain production orders in line with demand, material availability and capacity constraints.
  • Establish and maintain effective relationships with the company’s internal customers in accordance with the ethical code and standards of conduct maintaining the highest level of professionalism at all times.
  • Create reports detailing load and capacity requirements for the plant to meet the demands of the business.
  • Create and maintain purchase orders for inter-plant demands as necessary.
  • Review customer amendment and expedite requests (including changes to delivery dates and order content) and co-ordinate with customer service and production to implement and communicate changes.
  • Review engineering changes and take the necessary actions to communicate changes to production.
  • Review material supply issues impacting the production plan. Communicate to Customer Service any impacts on customer requirements.
  • Continually seek and identify areas for improvement, in line with the strategic direction of the organization with a view to improving service levels to customers.
  • Maintain material master record fields appropriate to the supply chain functions.
  • Ensure proper and professional commercial engagement at all times.
  • Drive and support activities relating to the control of inventory demonstrated by minimal variance >95% cycle count accuracy.

Qualifications:

  • Secondary School Level.
  • Minimum of 2 years planning experience in a make-to-order manufacturing environment.
  • Engineering background would be an advantage (Mechanical/Electrical).

Skills:

  • Supply Chain Qualifications would be an advantage.
  • SAP or any other major ERP system experience would be desirable.
  • Competent with Microsoft Office Packages (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Excellent organisational and administration skills are essential.
  • The ability to communicate at all levels internally and externally.
  • A flexible and proactive approach to daily tasks.
  • The ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • The ability to work on own initiative and be able to work as part of a team.
  • The ability to multi-task and prioritise workload accordingly.
