This role suits an experienced engineer with a strong technical background, able to lead a small indirect team to successfully complete large projects independently and to technically lead multiple small projects.
Responsibilities
- Plan engineering tasks, manage internal functions, and generate engineering management plans.
- Engage with customers to ensure solutions meet their expectations and communicate those expectations internally.
- Plan and present engineering design gate reviews, engaging with internal functions such as airworthiness and safety to ensure delivery milestones are met.
- Manage technical risks and opportunities.
- Manage engineering change to ensure system integrity throughout the lifecycle, maintaining traceability of all key design decisions.
- Provide support and guidance in all areas of the product lifecycle.
- Liaise with engineering leadership and programme management teams to ensure adequate resourcing and identify potential capability shortfalls.
Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in an engineering role with a strong technical background.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to interface with customers and internal stakeholders.
- Self‑motivated and proactive, using technical skills and teamwork to resolve issues.
- Experience of engineering lifecycle and design reviews.
- Experience in technical report writing.
- Comfortable presenting technical content at all levels across the business.
- Indirect or direct management experience.
- Previous engineering sign‑off for documents (not a requirement).
- Experience working with project management in schedule generation (beneficial).
