Currently located in Titchfield, Hampshire, Eaton's Aerospace business stands as a global leader in aerospace fuel systems. Our site is undergoing a significant and exciting transformation as we relocate to a newly constructed facility in Daedalus. This state-of-the-art site will serve as the Centre of Excellence for aerospace manufacturing across Europe, marking a new era of innovation and excellence.

We pride ourselves as a premier supplier of fully integrated fuel systems for fixed and rotary-wing aircraft. We boast extensive fuel and air system test facilities, facilitating comprehensive testing across a range of conditions with various fuel types.

What you’ll do

  • The Quality Manager will play a pivotal role in shaping our next chapter, guiding the transition into a new greenfield facility while working closely with our governing bodies. This move will not only strengthen compliance but help lay the foundations for a smarter, more future-ready operation.
  • Manages Quality customer interface to proactively assure requirements are understood and satisfied, including assisting in complaint resolution and root cause and corrective action determination.
  • Ensures quality organization support to Supply Chain Management organization relative to the collection and analysis of supplier quality data providing expertise and assists suppliers with product and process quality requirements.
  • Leads the development, implementation, and improvement of the appropriate Quality Management Systems throughout the operation, providing quality leadership and support in the development and launch of new products, processes and services.
  • Participates in, and may lead, the auditing of internal Quality Systems and completes part approval documentation to assure that customer requirements are met in new or modified products and processes.
  • Analyzes organizational quality metrics and performs managerial reviews to evaluate results and recommend action plans to close gaps at an operational level.
  • Develops and implements a Quality structure capable of supporting strategic business plans and initiatives.
  • Designs and implements quality assurance training programs and conducts training in quality-related topics.
  • Ensures functional participation in product development and launch activities including identification of customer expectations, manufacturing and test support, reliability analysis, design reviews, evaluation of test programs, material testing (use of APQP or Pro-Launch systems).
  • Leads improvement teams in the development and evaluation of process capability, process control plans, analysis of out-of-control conditions and process audits.
  • Ensures development, implementation, and audit of complex inspection and test plans, standards and acceptance criteria, and procedures/work instructions.
  • Evaluates operational performance of the group in order to facilitate performance management, merit promotions, job transfers, dismissals, commendations, etc.
  • Coordinates with plant leadership to prepare consolidated plant, customer, and product status information and action plans.
  • Coordinates and assists with corporate initiatives, participating on teams in order to drive best practices across Eaton Corp.
  • Has oversight of Quality Leading Indicators (QLI) for the site together with appropriate data input and driving improvement in the QLI self-assessment score for the site.
  • Main site interface with Corporate Quality Functions in cascading up data and analysis as required to Regional Quality Manager (RQM) or Quality Director and cascading down key functional messages.

  • Sites Managed: 1 site managed, multiple business units on the same site.
  • Measurement of DPPM for Nil Hours and Warranty returns via PowerBI and supporting data.
  • Review of “aged” escapes via PowerBI and supporting data ensuring timely turn-around to customers.
  • Measurement of site scrap via PowerBI (value) and CONC (warranty, scrap & rework) via Balance Score Card (BSC) and % COGS.
  • Measurement of First Pass Yield (FPY) for the site by area and via PowerBI.
  • Monitoring of site audit schedule to ensure audits and subsequent actions completed on time via PowerBI.
  • Review of completed Layer Process Audits (LPAs) and subsequent actions via EASE and PowerBI.
  • Monitoring of Material Review Boards (MRB) for quantity and aged parts via PowerBI.
  • Monitoring of ENCRs by Department, age and corrective action status.
  • Thorough understanding of problem solving methods – Six Sigma, 8D, root cause analysis, and the associated statistical tools used to analyse problems, evaluate and complete improvement projects.
  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of Eaton’s corporate Supplier Quality Assurance requirements and WISPER control.
  • Detailed understanding of the key phases and requirements of an effective new product development and launch methodology (Advance Product Quality Planning (APQP) and Pro-Launch aware).
  • Detailed knowledge of industry and customer specific quality registration schemes and certification processes (i.e., ISO9001, ISO/TS-16949, AS9100, CAA Part 21, CAA / EASA Part 145, FAA and CAAC).
  • Detailed knowledge of process auditing techniques to ensure compliance to defined quality requirements (Eaton EQMS certified auditor or external equivalent).
  • Thorough knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Process Variation Reduction (six Sigma) concepts and tool sets as they relate to process/product variability, and root cause and corrective action determination.
  • Detailed knowledge of product and end user application/specifications, including product testing requirements (design/process interface).
  • Thorough knowledge of gauging and basic understanding of product material properties.
  • Thorough understanding of engineering design and product reliability concepts and tool sets.
  • Ability to direct and lead cross-functional process improvement teams.
  • Multiple years of related professional and Supervisory/Managerial experience.
