Located in Titchfield, Hampshire, Eaton's Aerospace business stands as a global leader in aerospace fuel systems. We pride ourselves as a premier supplier of fully integrated fuel systems for fixed and rotary-wing aircraft. The Titchfield facility boasts extensive fuel and air system test facilities, facilitating comprehensive testing across a range of conditions with various fuel types.
We are seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to work within the Manufacturing Engineering Team, supporting all operations areas of the Titchfield site. Providing day to day support to the production areas in achieving production schedule, product quality, product cost, and employee safety goals.
What you’ll do:
- Lead end to end NPI activities using gated project frameworks (e.g. MRL, PPAP, AS9145, ProLaunch).
- Develop and execute manufacturing plans, readiness reviews, and standard operations procedures.
- Drive Design for Manufacturability & Assembly (DFMEA/PFMEA) reviews with engineering teams.
- Define production process flow, routings, and required tooling/fixturing.
- Support prototype builds, engineering trials, and qualification runs.
- Creation of additive manufactured tooling, Poka Yoke fixturing, using CAD modelling.
- Develop detailed manufacturing work instructions, standard work, and build documentation.
- Perform tolerance analysis, process capability studies, and risk assessments (PFMEA).
- Identify opportunities for automation, process optimisation, and cost reduction.
- Specify and validate manufacturing equipment, gauges, and special processes.
- Support root cause analysis and implement corrective actions using structured problem solving (8D, 5 Why, DMAIC).
- Ensure manufacturing processes comply with aerospace standards (AS9100, NADCAP, internal specs).
- Support qualification testing, certification activities, and production readiness reviews.
- Work closely with design engineering to influence product design early in development.
- Coordinate with supply chain and suppliers to ensure manufacturability and process capability.
- Partner with operations to ensure smooth handover from development to production.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Aerospace Engineering is preferred.
- Experience in aerospace or a similarly regulated mechanical manufacturing environment.
- Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or higher.
Skills:
- Demonstrated experience and involvement with NPI projects.
- Strong working knowledge of manufacturing processes such as: assembly & integration; fuel systems; special processes (heat treatment, surface finishing, part marking, etc.).
- Experience with automation, digital manufacturing, or Industry 4.0 technologies (e.g. AutoCAD, SOLIDWORKS).
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and cross functional collaboration.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and work in fast paced environments.
- Detail oriented with a passion for process excellence.
