We are now looking for a number of UPS Commissioning Engineers to join our UK team, supporting South East region. In this role, you will provide expert service to Eaton customers by commissioning large UPS systems, ensuring optimal performance and reliability in line with Eaton's safety standards. You will play a key role supporting hyperscale data centres, delivering high-quality technical expertise across commissioning, testing and system configuration. Candidates need to be based within South of the UK.
What you'll do:
- Commissioning of large UPS systems.
- Ability to understand on-line and line-interactive UPS systems.
- Ability to understand and create commissioning scripts.
- Carry out site acceptance testing on customer sites.
- Ability to use and understand power quality meters.
- Experience in thermography and reporting.
- Battery experience – VRLA and Lithium Ion.
- You will setup and configure remote monitoring software.
- You will communicate with key stakeholders on a technical level.
- Applies anti-static policies and procedures.
- Applies ECN process to all repairs.
Qualifications:
Educated to a HNC or higher in Electrical and Electronic Engineering or equivalent.
Skills:
- Possessing three phase electrical installation or maintenance knowledge.
- A good understanding of UPS systems is preferred.
- Knowledgeable of industrial communication protocols such as: Modbus, SNMP, OPC, DDE, TCP/IP.
- Knowledgeable of programming of PLC control systems (power control, generator control, SCADA or process control).
