What you’ll do:

  • We are seeking a highly motivated Junior Engineer to join our Avionics engineering team. This role is ideal for an entry‑level engineer with a passion for aviation and avionics systems who is eager to grow and develop their technical and professional skills.
  • Assess current EMC and Lightning protection methods of our products.
  • Research how to simulate these protection methods in EMC simulation tools.
  • Import CAD models into simulation tools and refine these structures to allow effective simulation.
  • Run and iterate simulation models to produce the required simulation results.
  • Compile white papers to describe what you learned during simulation and the best practices and techniques discovered.
  • Analyse and document multi‑disciplinary requirements and ensure the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions.
  • Perform functional analysis, performance analysis, system design, detail trade studies, system integration, verification, and validation, as well as interface definition studies of systems, subsystems, or system elements.
  • Develop requirements verification matrices and assist in developing verification, validation, and qualification plans.
  • Assist in preparation and execution of Systems Requirements Reviews, Preliminary Design Reviews, Critical Design Reviews and Test Readiness Reviews.

The Avionics Airborne Equipment department is dedicated to advancing the field of avionics through a collaborative team of Systems Architecture experts, Hardware Engineers, and EME specialists. Our mission is to design, develop, and integrate cutting‑edge airborne equipment that meets the highest standards of performance and reliability.

Skills:

  • A wide range of skills and experiences can be relevant to this role. While you do not need to have these, some useful backgrounds might include:
  • A background in engineering, Avionics / Electronics preferred, but not required.
  • A knowledge of writing code and/or scripts.
  • A background knowledge of EMC or wave physics.
  • Experience with standards such as RTCA DO-160 and MIL-STD-461.
  • Experience working in cross‑functional teams.
  • Knowledge of Model‑Based Systems Engineering tools and approaches.

This role offers a unique chance to develop and/or expand your expertise in EMC (Electromagnetic Compatibility) and Systems Engineering and gain hands‑on experience with advanced simulation tools such as Altair and ANSYS. You will have the opportunity to work independently on projects, allowing you to shape Eaton’s best practices for these tools. You will be at the forefront of engineering, using the latest tools and techniques to understand real AAR/Actuation and probes EMC and system challenges. Additionally, this role provides a platform to collaborate with multiple departments, gaining company exposure. You’ll develop a skill set that includes technical proficiency, project management, and cross‑functional teamwork.
