Located in the heart of the City, Eataly London is a diverse, multi-outlet operation that harmoniously combines retail, restaurants, bars, and various other departments to create an exceptional guest experience. As part of the Eataly London team, you will contribute to our mission of sharing the rich flavours and traditions of Italy with our guests while fostering a vibrant atmosphere for friends and families to gather.
As a Senior Baker, you will be working in Eataly’s on-site open Bakery, a vital part of the Eataly experience, and working closely with our Sous Chef and Head Baker in leading our in-house production. Our customer facing bakery is home to a traditional wood fired oven and our team produces various types of breads and focaccias as well as sweet baked goods that are sold directly to the customers as well as being served in our restaurants and cafés. Shifts for this role will start at 4am and we cannot accommodate requests for a later start time due to our production. Make sure to check your commute before applying for this role.
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:
- Prepare bread, focaccia, rolls and other bread items for Eataly’s restaurants and retail operations.
- Ensure all foods prepared meet quality standards in terms of portion size, flavour, texture, and consistency.
- Follow proper proofing and baking techniques for each variety of bread.
- Mix, weigh, and shape the dough, working with fresh ingredients and producing everything from scratch.
Requirements:
- At least 3 years of bakery experience in a professional environment in a high volume production bakery leading the production of various baked goods including but not limited to bread, sourdough, and viennoiserie.
- Strong baking skills working with fresh ingredients from mixing ingredients to shaping and baking the dough.
- Availability to work on site with a flexible rota covering mornings, evenings, and weekends.
- Experience with fast paced and high demand environment.
- Ability to use a wood fire oven and other professional kitchen equipment.
- A warm and friendly attitude, and confidence to interact with our guests.
- Fluent in English.
- Right to work in the UK.
