As part of the Eataly London team you’ll contribute to our mission of sharing the rich flavours and traditions of Italy with our guests while fostering a vibrant atmosphere for friends and families to gather.

The Health & Safety Specialist is responsible for supporting and promoting a proactive health & safety, food safety and compliance culture across the store. The role works closely with the operational teams, external consultants and the Corporate Health & Safety team to ensure the business operates in line with legal requirements, company standards and best practices. This position provides hands‑on operational support through audits, investigations, training, risk assessments, compliance monitoring and continuous improvement initiatives across all store departments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the implementation and ongoing management of Health & Safety, Food Safety and Fire Safety policies, ensuring compliance with legislation and company standards.
  • Conduct regular workplace inspections, audits and risk assessments across all operational areas.
  • Investigate accidents, incidents, hazards and near misses, ensuring accurate reporting and follow‑up actions.
  • Coordinate and support Health & Safety, Food Safety, Fire Safety and compliance training across operational teams.
  • Promote a positive safety culture by providing practical day‑to‑day support and guidance to managers and employees.
  • Maintain high standards of hygiene, food safety, allergen controls, cleaning and operational compliance across all departments.
  • Monitor and support completion of digital compliance systems and Trail checks, following up on any gaps or corrective actions.
  • Support operational teams during inspections, audits and compliance visits.
  • Maintain accurate compliance records, audits, training logs, incident reports and operational documentation.
  • Build strong working relationships across departments while supporting the wider operational needs of the business.
Requirements
  • Previous experience within a Health & Safety and Food Safety role, ideally within hospitality, food retail or a fast‑paced operational environment.
  • Available to work on site 5 days a week.
  • Good understanding of UK Health & Safety legislation and food safety requirements.
  • Experience conducting risk assessments, audits and incident investigations.
  • Strong organisational and administrative skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to influence and support teams across multiple departments.
  • NEBOSH qualification or equivalent preferred.
  • Level 4 Food Safety qualification.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and general reporting systems.
  • Fluent in spoken and written English.
  • Right to work in the UK.
