Job Description
As aHead Chef, you will lead the back-of-house operations within your assigned restaurant or department. You will ensure the highest standards in food preparation, team leadership, and kitchen efficiency while delivering authentic Italian cuisine in line with Eatalys standards. Reporting to the Executive Chef,you will drive performance, innovation, and a positive workplace culture.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Leading and managing the kitchen team, including recruitment, training, performance evaluation, and disciplinary actions.
- Collaborating with the Executive Chef and other department heads to develop and execute seasonal menus.
- Ensuring consistency in food quality and presentation through effective communication, briefings, and continuous training.
- Monitoring and managing financial performance, including food costs, labor costs, and profitability.
- Overseeing inventory management: ordering supplies, stock control, verifying deliveries, and ensuring accurate documentation.
- Implementing and maintaining kitchen policies, procedures, and HACCP compliance.
- Conducting daily inspections to uphold high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and safety.
- Liaising with the front-of-house team to communicate menu changes, specials, and any shortages.
- Managing kitchen software, spreadsheets, and reporting tools to optimize operations.
- Handling and resolving employee and guest incidents professionally.
- Taking on additional responsibilities in the absence of the Executive Chef or as required.
Requirements
- Proven experience as aHead Chef, Senior Sous Chef, or similar leadership role in a high-volume, quality-driven kitchen.
- Strong leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate and train staff.
- Deep knowledge of Italian cuisine and culinary techniques.
- Proficiency in stock control, purchasing, and financial management.
- Familiarity with food safety regulations and kitchen health standards.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and adaptability.
- Experience using kitchen management software and POS systems.
