Eat Ping is a D2C Asian meal prep subscription. We went from zero to $3.1M ARR in 13 months on angel capital, hit cash flow positive in March. The mandate over the next 12-18 months is to triple to $10M ARR, without burning capital to do it.
We're hiring our first Growth Lead. This is the most senior commercial seat after the founder, with a clear path to Head of Growth in 12-18 months, and subsequently, Chief Commercial Officer after that. You'll inherit a small team and work alongside a Head of Engineering and Head of Ops, to drive all things growth related.
How we'll work together
For the first 12 months, you'll be executing on a strategy we set together. As you build the muscle and gain a nuanced understanding of the business, strategic ownership shifts to you. The role grows as you do.
What you'll own
- Paid acquisition oversight. Liaise with external agencies running our paid social and paid search. You won't be in the ad accounts day-to-day, but you'll understand paid social and paid search dynamics well enough to challenge the agency, judge their work, and direct the strategy.
- Retention and cohort economics. Own the retention curve end-to-end, cohort analysis, churn diagnostics, pause vs cancel mechanics, payment failure recovery, win-back, lifecycle.
- Content engine. Establish a regular cadence of paid content creation working with external creators. Own the creative brief, the testing framework, and the judgement calls on what gets pushed to paid, what stays organic, and what gets killed.
- Unit economics and the growth model. Own CAC, LTV, contribution margin, and the forecast. Channel-by-channel acquisition, retention curves by cohort, sensitivities.
Who you are
- 3 to 4 years in growth or commercial roles at a fast-paced consumer startup.
- Been the senior IC, player-coach, or #2 to a Head of Growth, ready for your first solo seat.
- Can calculate LTV in your head from churn and gross margin.
- Can read a cohort retention curve and tell us what the shape is telling you.
- Can hold a paid agency accountable on incrementality, not just attributed ROAS.
- Can build a growth forecast with cohort logic, not just a P&L.
- Can tell us why a piece of paid social creative works or doesn't, with specifics.
- Can run weekly 1:1s, write 30/60/90 plans.
- IB / PE / consulting backgrounds welcome if you've already made the operator transition with 18+ months at a consumer business.
Things to know upfront
- This is a high intensity role, this is not a 9 to 5 job, given the path to eventual c-suite. Expect occasional weekend pushes around launches and campaigns + a high degree of availability.
- Above-market base with meaningful equity.
- 4 days in person, we may move to a more hybrid role in the future, but for now, in office culture.
If you read all of the above and got more interested rather than less, we should talk.
