Job Description

Housing and Litigation Lawyer

Are you a qualified solicitor with a passion for housing law and a drive to deliver high-quality legal services? Join Our client as a Housing and Litigation Lawyer (or equivalent) and help us deliver an effective, responsive, and value-for-money legal service across their Group.

In this rewarding and impactful role, you’ll manage a broad caseload of housing management matters including anti-social behaviour, disrepair, and possession.

You'll also play a key leadership role in supervising two junior team members and helping to shape the delivery of legal services.

This role is based in Liverpool with travel to their St Helens and Warrington offices. Agile working is available.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Manage a caseload of housing management matters including injunctions (nuisance and compliance), possession, succession, trespass, and disrepair.
  • Provide clear, up-to-date legal advice to internal departments and represent Them at court and tribunal hearings where required.
  • Draft pleadings, witness statements, interlocutory applications, and other legal documents.
  • Support the Group Head of Legal Services in delivering the department’s objectives and corporate goals.
  • Supervise and support two junior solicitors and a disrepair caseworker.
  • Deliver legal training to staff to enhance legal awareness and promote efficiency.
  • Stay updated with changes in relevant legislation, guidance, and company policies.
  • Collaborate across teams to ensure a seamless, customer-focused service.
  • Work proactively with external solicitors and counsel where needed.

What They’re Looking For:

  • Degree level education or equivalent relevant training/experience.
  • Professional legal qualification as recognised by the SRA or equivalent body.
  • Significant experience of housing management cases.

Interview Process:

The interview will be competency-based to assess your experience and suitability for the role and will also include a presentation element, allowing you to demonstrate your skills and approach in a practical scenario.
