Senior Data Scientist – Pricing and Revenue Management
The Team
Join the Commercial organisation at easyJet, where the Trading, Pricing, and Revenue Management department is responsible for pricing over 100 million tickets and ancillary products annually. easyJet’s Pricing System is entirely developed and tested in-house by practitioners and tuned to real-life pricing problems. Currently, we are on the road to develop our next generation system including reengineering the system’s backend, UI and algorithms.
Our team comes from diverse backgrounds including engineering, economics, statistics, and mathematics. We leverage data science, data analysis and subject matter expertise to drive key pricing decisions. As part of the team, you’ll develop, test, and manage cutting-edge pricing systems and algorithms, working at the exciting intersection of Business, IT, and research.
You will:
- Design and develop advanced models for algorithmic pricing strategies.
- Conduct simulations, back-tests, shadow-tests, and real-life A/B tests to measure impact.
- Engage in pioneering revenue management research in collaboration with academia.
- Analyse and present insights to subject matter experts.
- Maintain and enhance the codebase and documentation.
Requirements of the Role
What You’ll Need:
- Solid understanding of the pricing problem, and data science (pipelines, sampling, testing, statistics, machine learning, inventory management, dynamic pricing, demand forecasting, optimisation, stochastic processes, Bayesian inference).
- MSC/Ph.D. in statistics, data science, econometrics, quantitative economics, operations research, mathematics.
- At least 5 years of experience in applied statistical modelling using software like R, Python, Julia, SAS, Stata, SPSS, JMP, or Minitab.
- Familiarity with our tech stack: T-SQL, Python, C, Databricks, GitHub.
- Experience in industries such as airlines, lodging, car rentals, or e-commerce.
- A passion for working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with a focus on continuous learning and improvement.
