The Job – Product Lead – In Flight Retail
The Team
easyJet wants to continue building the world’s leading airline retail offering and we are looking for someone to come and join our ambitious team. The Inflight Retail team sits within our commercial function, and is tasked with delivering a completely integrated retail strategy that delivers to the bottom line. We want to stay ahead of the latest consumer trends in food & beverage and relevant consumer goods. We seek to identify and implement technology disruption and build strong brand & retail partnerships. All of this within the unique and intense retail environment that is a low cost airline operation.
The Job
We are reviewing the fundamental technologies and processes that power our IFR programme. This is a complex ecosystem that stretches across multiple partners and internal / external processes to deliver both day to day operations and data, as well as unlock future growth opportunities into new channels.
Sitting within the IFR commercial team, this role will act as a the business product owner working within the core cross functional team looking to design and implement our future ecosystem. This will include working with internal and external commercial and operational partners to inform the detail of the programme requirements, and implications for ongoing processes. You will navigate the complexity of multiple stakeholder needs and support fast and effective implementation of the programme, identifying relevant trade-offs and prioritisations.
You will immerse yourself in the detail of how we deliver a uniquely successful IFR programme to understand the nuance of decisions to enable a high impact change programme.
Looking beyond immediate requirements, this role will define future new platform growth opportunities, inspiring the business to support targeted investment and building into our future roadmap
How you will do it:
You will act as the commercial lead in our IFR change programme, through RfP and then eventual integration to go-live, you will also work with digital and IT teams in designing and executing future growth opportunities.
You will provide commercial oversight to the programme, balance the needs of customer with commercial, operational, technical, people and cost impacts and collaborate to identify the optimum solutions.
Leading the input of commercial requirements, both for short term and future roadmap, you will evaluate vendor fit based on commercial requirements (incl. customer experience, profitability, impact into wider business functions) you will also support financial and commercial assessments for key decisions, including recommendations to progress implementation activity and preparation for resourcing meetings (e.g. Investco) from a commercial perspective
You will utilise data in all of your decision making and identify any potential opportunities to test alternative scenarios in A/B type testing to optimise customer attraction and conversion
In this role you will also lead cross-functional working groups to deliver IFR channel improvements & innovations. This includes a broad set of internal and external stakeholders that stretch across commercial, technology, operations, finance, customer experience, marketing
What you will need to do the role:
You will have broad strategic and commercial acumen and experience working on complex technology anchored delivery programmes and proven history of effecting high impact change through multi-functional working groups along with proven experience owning and driving commercial growth and change through technology in a consumer facing context (e.g., retail, FMCG). Aviation experience is helpful, but not essential
Experience of growing e-commerce channels with associated understanding of managing the necessary marketing activity to maximise sales is essential along with Good numeracy and analytics to support data and evidence based decision making
You will also have the ability to network and drive change across multiple departments, working with peers across other functions to ensure that best practice is shared and strong customer empathy and experience is considered throughout.
