Navigation Planning Officer
We’re on the lookout for a Navigation Planning Officer to join our Air Traffic Management team within Network Control. In this role, you’ll be part of the crew that keeps our Flight Planning System sharp and efficient, helping to deliver safe, smart flight plans for our pilots.
Day-to-day, you’ll work with the Navigation Planning team to manage key updates like AIRAC cycles, RAD changes, and Traffic Flow Regulations, while also playing a role in shaping airspace design across Europe in collaboration with Air Navigation Service Providers. You’ll take the lead in seasonal readiness by coordinating traffic rights, handling callsign schedules, and keeping the route database fresh.
There’s a big focus on pre-tactical planning too, where you’ll use network insights to improve operational and flight efficiency. Your work won’t just stay in one lane—you’ll collaborate across departments like Network Control and Flight Operations, pushing forward initiatives that level up our performance and support our sustainability goals. You’ll help evaluate and maintain our stored and optimised routes, test new versions and patches of flight planning software, and support key industry meetings that drive efficiency for the airline. Plus, you\’ll dig into proposed airspace changes, challenge inefficiencies, and play a part in safety report investigations. What you need to do this role
We\’re looking for someone with a strong grasp of airspace structures, navigational rules, and flight planning within large-scale, complex operational environments. You should have solid experience using key flight planning systems like LIDO, CHMI, AIMS, TOPS, or Eurocontrol NOP Tools, and a deep understanding of the European Air Traffic Network.
A background in aviation is essential, ideally supported by a relevant aviation degree, ATPL, or Dispatcher’s Licence. You’ll also need a working knowledge of aircraft performance and be confident using Excel. Being able to stay sharp under pressure and adapt to shifting priorities is key in this fast-paced role.

Location & Hours of Work
This full-time role will be based in Luton and will be an average of fourteen shifts per 28 days, the shifts are structured as follows: 06:00-18:00 (Early), or 12:00-22:00 (Lates).
