The Team
You’ll join the Accounting and Controls team within Group Financial Control, managing the Flight Operations Accounting Team. You’ll lead a team of two accountants and three assistant accountants, reporting to the Senior Finance Manager - Accounting and Controls.
The Role
As Finance Manager – Flight Operations, you’ll take full ownership of profit and loss and balance sheet for Fuel, Crew, and Disruption costs. You’ll deliver internal and external financial reporting, provide insightful analysis to enhance understanding of our cost base, and drive cost-saving initiatives in collaboration with Operations Finance. You’ll be a key business partner across Operations, Commercial, and wider finance teams, ensuring seamless communication and robust financial control.
What you’ll need
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with at least 3 years post-qualified experience
- Strong analytical skills and experience with variance analysis and financial reporting
- Ability to manage and mentor junior team members, fostering development and retention
- Excellent communication skills, able to challenge and influence stakeholders at all levels
- High attention to detail and ability to summarise complex data
- Proactive, self-starter attitude with enthusiasm for continuous improvement
- Advanced Excel skills (including basic macros); Planning Analytics experience preferred
- Aviation experience is a plus, but not essential

Practicalities
This full-time role will be based in Luton and will be 40 hours per week. We support hybrid working and we spend 60% of our time per month in the office.
