THE TEAM

You’ll join our Technical Security team within the wider Digital Safety organisation. The team is responsible for protecting the confidentiality, integrity and availability of easyJet’s information and information systems through effective security engineering, tooling and technical controls.

Working closely with colleagues across Technology, Security Operations and Incident Response, you’ll help ensure our security services remain resilient, effective and ready to support the evolving needs of the business.

THE ROLE

As a Security Engineer, you’ll be responsible for implementing, maintaining and operating technical security controls that protect critical systems and services across easyJet.

This is a hands‑on role where you’ll support the day‑to‑day operation of security tooling, provide technical security expertise, and contribute to the continuous improvement of our cyber security capabilities.

Key responsibilities include

  • Implementing, configuring and maintaining operational security systems and technical security services.
  • Supporting the reliability and effectiveness of security tools and controls.
  • Assisting with vulnerability remediation and security control improvement activities.
  • Producing and maintaining technical documentation, runbooks and operational guidance.
  • Supporting security investigations and remediation activities alongside Security Operations and Incident Response teams.
  • Providing security‑focused technical support and consultancy to Technology teams across the business.
  • Contributing to the development and delivery of the security engineering roadmap.
  • Keeping up to date with emergent cyber security threats, technologies and industry best practice.

Requirements of the Role

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

We’re looking for someone with a strong technical foundation, a proactive mindset and a passion for security engineering.

You’ll bring:

  • Experience within a security engineering, technical security or IT operations environment.
  • Understanding of common security technologies and security control implementation.
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical and problem‑solving skills.
  • The ability to work methodically and follow defined technical processes and standards.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • A collaborative approach and the ability to build effective working relationships across technical teams.

Experience with any of the following technologies would be beneficial

  • Microsoft Purview, including DLP and IRM capabilities.
  • Splunk SIEM.
  • Zscaler.

PRACTICALITIES

This is a full‑time position, we support hybrid working and spend time together as a team in our Luton HQ offices.
