Senior Load Controller in London

The newly established Centralised Load Control (CLC) team is responsible for supervising and developing load control activities, serving as a crucial operational link between Flight Operations and key internal stakeholders such as the Integrated Control Centre (ICC), Ground Operations and Ground Handling Partners, Engineering, and Safety, Compliance, and Operational Readiness teams.

As Senior Load Controller, you will be accountable for ensuring the safe, compliant, and efficient delivery of weight and balance activities through the effective leadership of the Centralised Load Control team. You will oversee load control operations and support the transition from manual to digital processes, contributing to improved safety performance, on-time performance (OTP), and operational resilience.

What you’ll be doing:

• Supervise, coach, and support the Centralised Load Control team, ensuring high standards of competence, performance, and professionalism.
• Oversee the accurate and timely execution of load control and dispatch activities, ensuring critical operational timelines are met.
• Monitor airport and operational performance through audits, KPIs, and trend analysis, driving improvements where required.
• Manage staff training, competency assessments, certification, and ongoing development.
• Provide operational support to the ICC using weight management techniques to identify, assess, and resolve emerging issues.
• Ensure proactive and efficient load planning, including oversight of exception management.
• Manage team resourcing activities, including rosters, leave, and individual performance reviews.
• Support the development and continuous improvement of CLC processes, procedures, and ways of working.
• Provide additional support to Flight Operations as required as the CLC function matures and expands.

Safety:

• Maintain oversight of weight and balance activities to ensure all aircraft limitations and regulatory requirements are met.
• Promote and embed a strong safety culture through timely, accurate reporting and investigation of incidents (ASRs).
• Ensure compliance with easyJet Operations Manuals, company policies, and supporting systems at all times.
• Actively contribute to safety risk management and continuous improvement initiatives.

What we’re looking for:

• Minimum 3 years’ experience in Weight & Balance and/or Load Control.
• Strong understanding of weight and balance principles.
• Good understanding of Ground Operations and turnaround processes.
• Familiarity with EASA regulations.
• Proven experience leading or supervising a team.
• Ability to work effectively in a small, specialised team with a focus on innovation and efficiency.
• Resilient, proactive, and able to manage competing priorities in a dynamic operational environment.
• Computer literate, including Windows and Microsoft Office (Excel).

Desirable:

• Knowledge of Aircraft Performance and Navigation (training will be provided).
• Broader understanding of airline operations.

Location & Hours of Work:

This full-time role will be based at London Luton Airport and will be full-time, 12-hour shift work, mixture of Days and Nights.
