The Team

You’ll join our Accounting and Controls team, reporting into the Finance Manager for Ground Operations. The team plays a critical role in ensuring confidence in our numbers, partnering closely with operations, commercial and finance colleagues across the business. Working in a collaborative team of around 10, you’ll support the effective accounting and control of Direct Operational Costs, with a particular focus on airport charges and ground handling costs.

The Role

As Financial Accountant for Direct Operational Costs, you’ll be accountable for the accuracy, insight and control of one of the most important areas of our cost base. You’ll take ownership of reporting and accounting for direct operating costs, delivering high quality month end and year end outputs while strengthening controls and supporting smarter business decisions. Your role will blend technical accounting, detailed analysis and true business partnering, helping stakeholders understand performance, risks and opportunities across our network.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Owning the accounting, reporting and balance sheets for Direct Operational Costs, including airport and ground handling charges
  • Delivering accurate, timely month end and year end reporting for internal and external stakeholders
  • Producing insightful analysis and commentary that builds confidence in the numbers and supports better decision making
  • Partnering closely with operations, commercial teams and wider finance to ensure alignment and transparency
  • Developing and improving costing models, including disruption and direct cost analysis
  • Tracking performance and cost saving initiatives to understand effectiveness and impact
  • Strengthening the accounting controls framework in line with accounting standards and easyJet policies
  • Supporting ad hoc projects across finance and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives
  • Acting as a key point of contact for accounting queries and supporting the Finance Manager with team leadership activities

Requirements of the Role

What we’re looking for:

  • A qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA), ideally with some post qualification experience
  • Strong analytical skills with an eye for detail and the confidence to challenge where needed
  • A proactive mindset with the ability to spot problems and propose solutions
  • Comfortable communicating complex financial information to both finance and non finance stakeholders
  • Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills, with the ability to present insights clearly and confidently
  • Well organised, able to manage multiple priorities and deliver to deadlines
  • A collaborative approach and a One Team attitude

This full time role will be based in Luton and will be 40 hours per week. We support hybrid working and we spend 60% of our time per month in the office.
